"Restructuring is all about setbacks – right from the start."

This episode of SMP Leading in Transformation deals with the inevitable, sometimes serious setbacks that have the potential to bring a restructuring or transformation to the brink of failure. There is a lot at stake. In restructuring in particular, the safety net for surviving a setback strategically and financially is often not particularly tight. But even in transformations, it is “highly likely that projects will not reach their goals as planned,” reports transformation manager Janis Steinfort.

So good methods are needed to deal with the inevitable setbacks, says experienced restructuring expert David Südi. This includes a good Plan B, but much more than that: it's about resilience, about making companies more resilient with appropriate measures. These include planning, preparation, processes, total transparency, and, last but not least, a resilient mindset.

In this episode of SMP Leading in Transformation, we discuss what specifically distinguishes companies and leaders who are truly prepared for crises and setbacks.
